Nurse Practitioners

The Independence Houses have two nurse practitioners who work with our team at the houses. Both conveniently see residents at our houses if chosen as your loved ones medical providers. Your loved one may keep their current physician if desired.

Cynthe Dumler, APRN is a general practitioner and makes weekly rounds. She is on call 24/7.

If your loved one is having challenging or difficult behaviors that seem overwhelming, let us help you. The Independence Houses concept was created over 20 years ago and has cared for hundreds of people with dementia in all stages of the disease process.

Our small, secure, home-like setting contributes to the warm, individualized care each resident receives. Our team is trained to deal with difficult behaviors through specific techniques, and work closely with our psychiatric nurse practitioner, Dean List, APRN to achieve the best quality of life. He sees our residents as needed at the houses. He is also on call 24/7.
